Loxahatchee Slough - The Seventh Visit

It took six months for this natural area to return to the top of our activity rotation, but it did, and we had a beautiful day to take our final hike. This was the southern portion of the Blue Gill Trail, which started at the Sandhill Crane Access Park on PGA Boulevard and went south about two miles to the Beeline Expressway. This was a bike trail between a canal and another refuge area, so was quite an easy hike. The birds were happy this morning, and we even saw several Sandhill Cranes and a lone Anhinga. On our return trip the grasshoppers were awake and hopping around on the path. Be careful!
