Loxahatchee Slough - The Third Visit

If we had known the depth and distance of water on this trail, we probably would have postponed our hike, but we didn't, and we were too far in before making that discovery, so we kept on wading until we completed our planned hike - from the Loxahatchee Slough main parking area to the observation tower (which was dry) then out the Ocean-to-Lake trail to the park's northeast boundary (which got increasingly wetter!), avoiding the deepest sections by returning to the main trail via the canal dike, which was also dry, before retracing our steps to the car. Fortunately, it wasn't raining, and we had a beautiful day to enjoy some peaceful, natural scenery.

Can't forget that on the way home the car up and died! Fortunately, we were able to coast to the side of the road where there was cell service to call the tow truck. Also, fortunately, our weekly schedule had room to get the repair (a throttle body replacement) completed before we had to drive somewhere again. Just something to help make this wet adventure even more memorable!
