DuPuis - Green Hike

Look at this gorgeous day! It was a perfect hiking day for our last scheduled visit to DuPuis Wildlife Management Area. We have now completed all the hikes, including the horse trails! What should we do to celebrate this accomplishment?

We parked at Gate #2 which provides access to the Ocean-to-Lake Trail, and went down that trail until we connected to the "green" horse trail, then turned west to start our loop.

Although we'd been following blazes, this was the first official signpost we found, and it directed us to the equestrian campground at Post #2. After reaching that point, we returned to this intersection and followed the south trail east.

We turned south at Post #46 and went all the way to Post #52, which we passed while on the Yellow Trail previously, then once again retraced our steps to Post #46 and continued north.

We veered left when we should have veered right, but we noticed our mistake (the little circle in the northeast) and made it back to our car safely. Total tally: 9.27 miles in 3 3/4 hours. What a wonderful way to spend the day!

It's taken us a few years to complete all the hikes. Maybe I should tally up the miles, but until then, you can read about each of them (and do your own math) by following these links.
