DuPuis - White Hike

We've hiked many of the trails at DuPuis, and so far this "white horse trail" has been our favorite. We just enjoyed the variety of trail surfaces and scenery, and since we're near the end of the dry season, our feet didn't get too wet either. That's always a plus!

We parked our car down at the south end of the park and walked along the road to Post #64, where we headed east (or counter-clockwise) along the loop. I'm going to let the pictures speak for themselves, at least for a while.

Here's where we crossed to the west side of the road.

Once back at the car, we still had some energy, so we decided to find the "boardwalk" trail. Our last attempt was unsuccessful, and we gave up.

While hiking along the obvious path, we noticed a shelter off in the distance which we figured was the boardwalk's destination. However, that dirt road took us further and further in the wrong direction, so we turned around.

Soon after the gate by the parking area, there's this very obscure intersection, but it went in the direction of that shelter, so we gave it a try. It was quite overgrown, but we persevered for a while, and finally discovered this:

We found the boardwalk! However, we didn't venture onto it, so never made it to the shelter we had seen. Don't you think it would have been nice for the park management to put up a "closed" notice on their sign?

Just for the record, there were some gorgeous wildflowers all along our way. Spring is a beautiful time of year!
