NeverBored in August

My it's been a busy month! We definitely didn't have any time to be bored!!

Our temple is now operating under Phase 3 guidelines! Weekly trips to start making progress on all our pandemic research has been a fun new tradition.

We joined the elders and their new converts for a baptism trip; they helped us complete the work for 25 of our cousins.

Final tally for the month - 25 baptisms, 18 initiatories, 12 endowments, 13 sealings (plus helping someone else with theirs) - Making progress!

We had a branch baptism. Even under the Covid mask you can see Rosa's fantastic smile. We're so happy for her!

You already know that we spend a lot of time doing church stuff; this month was no exception. While knocking doors, we actually found someone we hadn't met before. That's always exciting, and hopefully he'll come back to church. Hopefully, too, the discoloration we noticed on the building's ceiling will be repaired quickly and before it causes more problems; we want to leave a good impression with our visitors.

We "crashed" our home ward's breakfast picnic. It was so much fun catching up with friends we hadn't seen since before the pandemic. Hopefully, it won't be another 18 months before we see these terrific people again.

We took a sunrise trip to the beach where we didn't actually see the sun rise, but still had a relaxing, peaceful time.

We spent a windy day at the beach. Once again, not ideal conditions for our visit, but we still had a nice time.

We did a drive-by visit to Stormwater Treatment Area #2. That finishes the current section of the book. Will we head north or south next? Stay tuned to find out.

This month's Natural Area - Hypoluxo Scrub

Picnic at the park - Todd Robiner Park in Royal Palm Beach

We completed our series of golf lessons earlier, but added another "retirement" activity - getting a bucket of balls and practicing at the driving range.

This month's "extra" chores included washing a few windows and cleaning the "high-traffic" carpet areas. And I finally got started on really organizing our pictures, something that's been on my list for years, and that I set a goal to at least make progress on in 2021.

We also tried plenty of new recipes. Some of our favorites were Prune-Filled Star Bread, Moroccan Chicken and Poke Frittata.

We've eaten at places like Burger-Fi and Buffalo Wild Wings since the pandemic started, but this month we went to a "nice" restaurant for the first time in a very long time - Kontiki in Wellington.

We had some extremely delicious escargot followed by a couple of Thai recipes - Drunken Noodles (not very spicy) and Chicken Pad See Ew (also not very spicy, but that was what I wanted). How do we get Oriental food made at home taste like what you get at a restaurant?? However, here are a couple of recipes to start with when we're ready to try - Drunken Noodles and Pad See Ew.

The highlight of the month has to be our anniversary trip, where we had another dinner at a very nice restaurant, and were blessed with perfectly ideal conditions for our visit to the beach. Read all about it here.

And we can't forget that someone had a birthday this month! Hooray for traditions.

Now, on to September!!! I'm sure that it will be filled with just as many marvelous memories.
