Big Cypress National Preserve

When we realized that we would be spending a fair amount of time staying in Broward County over the next little while, Wayne thought it would be a great idea explore Big Cypress National Preserve more thoroughly. Many years ago, we drove through it while visiting the Everglades, and he even completed the Florida Trail segments that started there. However, there's much more than that to discover there. Our first stop was the Oasis Visitor Center where we watched the introductory videos and got ideas from the ranger on staff, before sharing our picnic with the mosquitos. In spite of the bugs, we had a nice visit and are looking forward to future trips.
