Hike #97 - Florida Trail Okeechobee Southwest - Day Four

Time for another hike! On another beautiful day! The trail started where we stopped last time, just north of the Julian Keen Lock in Moore Haven. There's no parking there, so we parked at the Moore Haven boat ramp; that added about 1 1/2 miles to our planned segment which ended at the Florida Trail Campsite at the C5-A water structure. Total was just over 9 miles and took us about 3 hours.

This section of the trail was a super straight line for miles. Shortly after passing the county dump on the west, the pathway does veer to the right to reach the water canal structure. That's where we turned around to retrace our steps, although we did take a few minutes to have a snack at the campsite picnic table, which had a beautiful view of the perimeter canal.
