Hike #97 - Florida Trail Okeechobee West - Day Three
Three for three! Three hikes in three weeks on another beautiful day and we had a very nice non-adventurous adventure today.
This time we started at the Alvin Ward Park in Moore Haven and went south to the bench where we stopped last week. We figured it would be a 4-mile round trip and so were pleased when it was only a little over 3 miles.
Once back at the parking lot, we started our "road walk" through Moore Haven to cross the Caloosahatchee River using the highway bridge and rejoin the trail on the north side.
It turned out to be not quite 3 miles through town and we found our starting point for next time. Then we retraced our steps back to our car for a total of 8 1/2 miles. The park was a nice place to enjoy a picnic lunch before returning home.
