Hike #97 - Florida Trail Okeechobee West - Day Two

Our blisters from last week healed quickly, so we took advantage of another beautiful winter day in South Florida to hike more of the Florida Trail. This piece started at Uncle Joe's Fish Camp.

This pump station was about 1 1/2 miles beyond the fish camp. We actually had some company on this hike, being passed by several bicyclists and a dozen or so boats.

At the five-mile mark, where conveniently there was a shaded bench, we decided it was time to turn around and head back to our car.

We had to return walking into the wind, but it kept us from being too hot. Then, after we finished, we drove to Alvin Ward Park in Moore Haven, which is where we'll start next week.
