Beach Day #2
We had a great time at the beach earlier in the week, but the little boys were afraid of the big waves. (Although not necessarily windy, the seas were a bit rough due to recent storms in the area.) So, for Saturday's trip we decided to try an Intracoastal beach, and selected Ski Beach. This is part of the Jupiter Ridge Natural Area, and is reached by a sandy trail of about 1/2 mile.
We arrived about an hour before high tide, so there was still a bit of beach area, but we got out feet wet when we left a couple of hours later. We had a great time watching the boats go by. When they did, we got waves; otherwise, the water was calm.
The big cousins knew exactly what they wanted to do and jumped right into the water, swimming and doing tricks. The little cousins got a lesson on sandcastle building from their aunt.
It took a bit of convincing, but someone finally decided he was brave enough to run to Mommy in the water, and back again. We were quite proud of him for conquering his fear.
When we'd had enough fun and sun, we made the return hike to the car, grateful for the chance to make some great memories.
