Happy Anniversary to Us!
We've had a great time continuing our favorite traditions for another year, and we hope we have several more decades on earth to do so.
Overnight Stay.
Sandwiched between a couple of gas stations and other businesses, the Travelodge in Riviera Beach isn't the most exotic or scenic place - especially compared to
last year or even our most recent
night out - but it was nice and served its purpose, and we'll have some great memories of this year's anniversary get away.
Northwood Village.
It's not an official staycation without doing something touristy, and this time we explored the quaint shops of Northwood Village. For being a supposedly newly revitalized area of West Palm Beach, we were a bit disappointed at how rundown it felt. I imagine the pandemic hit the area pretty hard. But I can also see it being a wonderfully creative place to visit once again in the future. It reminded me quite a bit of Wynwood Walls in Miami. (It looks like I never posted about that fun field trip with Michelle; maybe someday I will!) We enjoyed wandering the sidewalks together, and did find a place to eat lunch - a little European-inspired American cafe called Northwood Canteen, run by Colleen and Jon.
Food, food, food!
Peruvian food at La Churasca for dinner #1
Seafood and cheesecake at Two Georges for dinner #2
Another delicious brunch at home
It's fun to celebrate an anniversary week, and not just an anniversary day. Starting a few days early was a fun way to make our 40th anniversary a little extra special!
The sun reflecting off of Moroni as we walked into the temple this week was a beautiful reminder of the light and happiness and peace our marriage brings into our lives. Here's to another 40 years!!
