Relief Society Survivor

Our Relief Society meeting committee comes up with great ideas, and we really appreciate all of their hard work. Some of their ideas may be adapted from others with great ideas, but I think that's a sign of true wisdom. Why reinvent the wheel? The idea for our meeting this month came from here. It was a fun way to review principles and practices that will be helpful during hurricane season. We're hoping that if we're prepared, we won't have to actually use any of these skills.

SURVIVOR! Relief Society Style

The activities included an obstacle course to "get on the island," "fishing," apple "canning," seed identifying, a mini Jeopardy game, and shelter building. That was followed by a demonstration on 72-hour kits, with "worms and dirt" for dessert. We had a great time learning and reviewing.

If you're looking for ideas on how to make a 72-hour kit, or other preparedness tips, check out this old post.
