Memorable Recipes 2025

I did a pretty good job this year of posting the new recipes we tried this year on our Favorite Family Recipes blog; however, I thought it would be fun to spotlight some of the more memorable ones here. A quick scan shows that many of these memorable recipes featured new ingredients. It will take a lifetime (or longer!) to try all the offerings at the grocery store, but we'll keep trying.

New ingredients included stone crabs, squid, oyster and beech mushrooms, burrata

We also enjoyed recreating dishes that we liked from our restaurant dates - like Bang Bang Shrimp, Prosciutto & Burrata Appetizer,  and Texas Roadhouse Rolls.

We made it to the "rice" section of the Columbia Cookbook and all of the recipes were quite delicious, just as expected. Arroz Amarillo was particularly delectable.

You can read about all the "Bake Sale Cookbook" recipes here; unfortunately, I didn't particularly care for any of them this year, but Wayne loved the Butterscotch Sticky Buns. We also put last year's Christmas gift to good use and enjoyed some delicious ice cream. Wayne's favorite was the peanut butter cup version; I liked the strawberry ice cream.

I continue to find new recipes to try from surfing the internet. King Arthur Flour's recipe of the year - Big and Bubbly Focaccia - was delicious. I wonder what recipe they'll choose for 2026!
