Haulover Beach - Take One

We had a beautiful day for a drive to North Miami and Haulover Beach. I dropped Wayne off near the north end of the park so he could walk the length of the beach with the plan to meet him at the southern end, near Haulover Inlet. The main parking lot is on the Intracoastal side of the island; we discovered that there are underground tunnels to cross Collins Boulevard, which is quite helpful. (And I did replace my camera since our last trip to the beach.)

Unfortunately, once we actually arrived on the beach, we discovered red "no swimming" flags posted on the lifeguard stations. That just means we'll be coming back someday!

In the meantime, we set up our chairs near the inlet and enjoyed our picnic lunch. We even saw a couple of boats bouncing on the inlet waves.

What do you think of this giant "mountain" of seaweed? I guess they're keeping the beach itself cleared.
