Monday in Montana
Wayne had two activities left to do at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, and we thought they would take two more trips. However, unlike what we were told in February when we called, we discovered that the "living history" section of the museum actually opened the week before Memorial Day. It was a cold day, but we went anyway and had a great time!
First, though, we took advantage of their new "special" exhibit and learned all about Sue, the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
After going through that room, we did a quick review of the exhibits we had already seen. It didn't look like anything new had been added; in fact, several items were removed and part of the museum is under construction for a new exhibit.
When the outside areas opened at 11, we headed to the Tinsdale House where Brad and Cody joined us.
We were able to watch both of the planetarium shows offered that day (the second activity on the list), and now the museum is "done." Wayne says he's never seen the shows in the regular theater, but Cody says they're pretty juvenile, and I think it's possible we watched them on our first visit. Who knows, maybe we'll go back someday again after all.
After a fun lunch at the iconic Pickle Barrel, there was still time before the kids got home from school, so we took a little walk along the Gallagator Trail.
After school, the kids were excited to put into action Adam's plan to turn his bedroom into a "ball pit" using balloons. So ingenious, especially when they realized they could make a "pen" to corral the balloons which saved time in blowing them all up.
Finally, we enjoyed dinner together at Mackenzie River Pizza, where Brooke's wish for both macaroni & cheese AND pizza miraculously came true. And, who knew that there is such a thing as Macaroni & Cheese Pizza?
We had a wonderful trip to Montana for Adam's baptism. Thanks for the memories! We love you!!
