Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail - Day 11

Because there was no parking at Taylor Creek, we had to use the Okeechobee parking area. This is a popular place, even on a cloudy weekday morning. We headed east to where the trail ended, then turned around, passed the parking area and continued on to Okee-Tantie. At one time that was probably quite popular as well. Now, though, the campground and store have been abandoned and there's just a giant empty parking lot. So sad! We picked an overcast day to finish our hiking, and we got sprinkled on a few times, but we wanted to finish this hike during the two-week temple closure. We didn't quite do it in two weeks, but we did complete our efforts before the temple actually reopened on Tuesday evening.

The End!
