Horse Trail North

This year for our Thanksgiving week hike we went back to Grayson-Highlands State Park and hiked the Horse Trail North to Wilburn Ridge. It was a cold day (about 40 degrees), but the sun was out, we had our coats and ear warmers, and it was a short hike (just over two miles total) so we were fine.

We hiked to the boundary fence and then retraced our steps back to the Rhododendron Trail turnoff.

Here's the one wild pony we saw. We know it was alive because its head moved, but we suspect his feet were frozen in place!

The trail looked a bit different from when we last hiked it in May last year, but it was still beautiful.
