Beckham's Special Day
The next grandchild in line chose to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so off to Utah we went, to help support him on his special day. The Montana cousins came down as well. It's a good thing Beckham's house has plenty of room for visitors.
Off to the stake center! Beckham asked me to play the piano (really a keyboard - thank you to Dallin for figuring out how to plug in the pedal), Grandpa to lead the music (I am a Child of God and When I am Baptized), his other grandma to say a prayer, Evelyn to give the talk, Dallin and Clara to be witnesses, and Adeline to give another prayer (and when she was too bashful to do so, big brother came to the rescue). His dad performed the ordinances, and the highlight of the meeting was his mom's debut as a harp soloist!
Look at all the people who came to support Beckham!
Special guests at the baptism included his Primary teacher, Sister Adams (with her husband), and Great-Grandpa and Grandma Whitaker. We just had to snap a four-generation picture.
The picture taking session was cut short due to an approaching thunderstorm, but we made it back to the house before the downpour started, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch of baguettes, salad, and manicotti rolls, with Monster Cookies for dessert. Don't forget the fun with cousins afterwards!!
The older girls and Uncle Hayden enjoyed playing tricks on each other all afternoon, starting with hidden phones and ending with a water fight. Isn't it great having uncles who can be silly and fun?
Beckham, you are so loved. We hope you always remember your special day!
