World's Fair Houses

While on the lake cruise, we learned a bit about the "Century of Progress Homes" built for the World's Fair in Chicago in 1933. Walking by them was on our list of things to do, and we lucked out and found a parking place as we drove from the Dune Ridge Trail to our campsite. The time limit was 15 minutes, but that was just about the right amount of time. You can't walk through the houses themselves - they're lived in by normal (albeit most likely quite rich) people, and one is under renovation - but it was interesting reading more about the "modern" technology and design involved in their creation.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that the Florida house was my favorite. Bonus - we actually got to see a bit more of the sunset while we were there!
