Dunewood Trace
After setting up camp, we determined we had time to take a hike, and we decided it made sense to do the one that started at the campground. So, we did!
While the trail actually did start at the campground, it wasn't necessarily near our campsite, so first we walked about 3/4 mile to reach the beginning. From there it was a nice and level, there-and-back hike to the junction with the Glenwood Dunes trail system.
This hike was the perfect introduction to Indiana Dunes National Park. Most of the remaining trails were also through forested area that had beautiful wildflowers blooming. There weren't any dunes to climb, but we didn't have to wait long for that experience.
