North Hollywood Beach Park

There's actually a park at North Hollywood Beach, with picnic tables and pavilions and restrooms and, most importantly, plenty of parking (for $10 a day). We would have preferred that our beach day was a bit warmer (there was a bit of a northerly breeze), but at least it was nice and sunny and pleasant.

It looks like this beach used to be called Keating Beach, but now it's Hollywood Beach, and it's at the northern end of the Hollywood Broadwalk (made of brick, so it's not a boardwalk). We enjoyed our walk south for about a mile, turning around when we reached Johnson Street, which is considered the beginning of "south" Hollywood Beach. There are several restaurants there, among all the hotels and cottages; we preferred the peaceful quiet of the northern end.

We set up our chairs, ate our lunch, read a book, took a nap, and even dipped our toes (me) and nose (Wayne) into the water. What a beautiful way to spend several hours!
