Touring Salt Lake City

Every time we visit family, we try to do something "touristy" and when in Utah, we've been making our way through buildings near Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City. Next on the list was the Relief Society Building. Before leaving I checked for when it would be opened, and learned it's closed to the public for now. That was a bit disappointing, but we planned to park and walk to it, which we did after landing and before heading to our parents' house.

The next building on the list was the Social Hall Museum. That website said it was permanently closed! There is a placard and window display, and I was happy to read them on this trip so we could check it off the list, but that wasn't acceptable to someone else, so we'll be back!

Except for the Conference Center and Tabernacle, which we've already visited, all of the other buildings on the list were also closed for renovation. However, we had a very delightful time walking around Temple Square and enjoying the beautiful weather. We finished our visit with a delicious lunch at City Creek Center, and then headed out for a very busy week of visiting and fun.
