This Year's Anniversary Staycation

Anniversary #41 is in the books, and we had a fantastic time celebrating our years together. This year we booked a studio suite at The Ambassador Hotel

Supposedly it was a resort, but it didn't really feel that way; I guess they cater more to the residential side of things. There was access to the beach, and a beautiful pool, but we didn't see any spa or fitness facilities, and the restaurant was closed while we were there. Our balcony overlooked the parking lot, which was a bit disappointing, but if you looked between the buildings and trees, you could get a glimpse of the ocean. And a limited view of the Intracoastal could be seen from the front door.

We might have spent more time on the beach, but it was a windy day, so we mostly stayed in the comfort of our room. The wind created great waves, and we enjoyed watching swimmers try to surf while eating dinner on the nearby pier. (Their ultimate Key Lime Pie was quite delicious.)

While we've seen more spectacular sunsets and sunrises, even cloud-covered ones are beautiful. Being near the ocean is just a real treat.

Our little vacation may not have quite lived up to our expectations, but it was still wonderful in its own way!

And we can't forget the "at home" celebrating on the actual date - flowers and delicious food!
