Beach Day at the State Park

It's summertime, and we figured it would be fun to schedule our next beach day on the actual first day of summer. When we moved to Florida over twenty years ago, we visited this beach with our children and quite enjoyed it. So, we invited the next generation of kids to join us on our trek to Dr. Von D. Mizzell - Eula Johnson State Park, formerly known as John U. Lloyd State Park.

We had a grand time, and look forward to some more fun summer activities with these cute boys.

One of the things that makes this beach great is that there are shaded picnic tables and grills basically right on the beach. It's a bit of a trek from the parking lot, but we've had longer ones, and the restrooms are conveniently located as well.

Wayne did a short walk along the shore (avoiding the turtle nests), we played in the water, and the boys dug in the sand. What a great way to spend a day!

And we left before the afternoon thunderstorms rolled in! We'll be back someday. Who wants to join us?
