A "Vacation Planner" Camping Trip

We normally stay at campgrounds in national parks, or maybe state parks, but after the list of hotels in our county vacation planner there's a list of campgrounds. Guess who wants to try them out? So, off we went on a mid-week mini camping trip - to the Lion Country Safari KOA.

In addition to RV and trailer sites, this KOA offers cabins, "safari" tents, and sites to pitch your own tent. We selected the latter. Don't expect privacy at this campground, but there is a swimming pool and playground. There's even a mini store, a laundry, and a pavilion (which hosted a karaoke event the evening we were there).

It wasn't our favorite camping adventure, but the weather was gorgeous and we had a nice, relaxing time. And it is right next door to Lion Country Safari. Someday that attraction will come up in the vacation planner book and we'll check out the lions and monkeys.
