Acadia - Cadillac Mountain

One of the top things to do in Acadia National Park is to watch a sunrise from Cadillac Mountain. That sounded like a great idea. However, you need a pass to drive your car up the mountain road, and those disappear within seconds once they open up each day. After trying each day on our trip north, once we arrived we decided to go with Plan B, and that was watch the sunset. (It was much easier to reserve tickets for later in the day.) We figured if we really wanted to see the sunrise, we could hike up the mountain from our campground, and knowing what it looked like at the top would be a good idea.

It was cold and windy at the top, but we read the signs and followed the nature trail.

Look at the gorgeous view!!!

After exploring the top, we headed down the mountain using the North Cadillac Trail.

More gorgeous views! And we made it to the bottom.

It took longer than we expected - I guess we're getting older - so we had to hustle back up the mountain to be at the top for the sunset.

We made it! We're so grateful God created such a beautiful world for us.
