Acadia - Beehive Trail

According to my research, if you had any qualms about hiking the Precipice Trail, you could get a feel for what it would be like by trying the Beehive Trail first. So we did. The trail starts across the road from Sand Beach and climbs up the steep face of the mountain.

Made it to the top!

We descended down the backside to a lake called "The Bowl" and then finished the loop (or lollipop) back to our car.

I wonder if anyone took pictures of us ascending the mountain!

After the hike we checked out the beginning of the Bar Island Trail, which we planned to take at some low tide later in our trip.

And then picked up some fresh lobster for dinner. Delicious!!
