Some Recent Church Activities

It's been a busy summer, filled with a variety of church activities. First up was a road trip to Tennessee with some of our young men. The High Adventure was combined with Girls Camp and Youth Conference, so I went along as well. Our youth are great!

We're trying to clean out the church library, and slowly we're making progress. One interesting find was a fifty-year-old Primary History album. Look at this treasure!

We're enjoying our new tradition of picnics with our elders each transfer. We started in March when John Stretch Park came up in our county park rotation list, and we all decided it was worth doing again. In August it was build-your-own sandwiches on ciabatta rolls.

We have another new tradition - this one started in June - of making weekly evening trips to the temple (when we're in town) to serve as ordinance workers.

We're still taking our weekly morning trips to serve as patrons. Slowly, we're making progress on whittling down the list of reserved family names.

Maria was baptized this summer!

Death is a fact of life, and when it happens, we're happy to help those affected in any way we can. Playing the organ and leading the hymns at the funeral is just one way to do so.

Providing for those in need is another way to serve. Our stake Relief Society collected school supplies for the kids in our branch, and we helped pass them out. So much fun to bring happiness to others.

Time for another branch activity! This month it was a Back to School Pizza Party. Nice and simple.

Next activity - a branch temple baptism trip. We're having a great time helping everyone get ready.
