Beach Day - Hugh Taylor Birch State Park

Now that spring has arrived and the water temperature is warm again, it was finally time to have another beach day. We love these excusions! This time we went to the beach at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park in Fort Lauderdale. (Because the internet was down, the very reasonable $6 entrance/parking fee was waived - bonus!) I was kind of looking forward to accessing the beach through the underground tunnel. However, it was closed and locked; I guess they decided a pedestrian crossing for the street was adequate. Just look at the beautiful day we had.

Our next beach day will be at "central" Fort Lauderdale Beach. Should be a fun experience!

And someday we'll go back to explore the state park more thoroughly.

A visitor's center, some hiking trails, picnic areas, kayak rentals, an outdoor restaurant - lots of fun stuff to discover. Maybe we'll even go to the beach again!
