North Beach

It was a gorgeous day in May - perfect for an excursion to the beach. This time around our destination was North Ocean Park in Pompano Beach. When we scoped it out earlier, we noticed the parking lot was quite small, just a couple of dozen spots on a dead-end street. Fortunately, at 10 AM on a weekday morning, it was fairly empty, although we did have to maneuver around some power utility trucks. (Note that parking is $1.50 an hour.)

After setting up our chairs, we did some exploring, walking to the north to see the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse from this side of the river, and south to the city pier.

We got in the water, ate our sandwiches, read our books and just relaxed. The weather was perfect, not too hot nor humid, with a slight breeze but not gusty wind. Another beautiful day in paradise!
