Saturdays in June - #3

We started this Saturday by returning to Cypress Creek Natural Area to complete the last hike in the northern section. Now that we’re in the midst of the rainy season, it’s a good thing this was a “road” hike; it was quite obvious from the access points that the back-country trails were under water. (Not that that would have stopped us – see here – but it was nice to keep our feet dry.)

At home there was time to do some chores, including step one of the new recipe for dinner, before heading off to a COVID-style baptism. That means there were less than ten people present, with chairs distanced from each other. We’re so happy for Esther!

Ropa Vieja translates as “old clothes” but it certainly doesn’t taste like them. I could use the English title, Shredded Beef; however, that is just too boring and plebian.

Some time spent in nature, some time spent in church service, some time spent enjoying hobbies at home = a perfect Saturday!
