Christmas is Coming Again #13

2006 – Michelle’s 13th Christmas

We did get the traditional Christmas morning picture, but since Christmas Eve was on a Sunday (I really like it when that happens), I convinced them to let me take a picture in their Sunday best as well. Wasn’t that nice of them to humor me?

David had had knee surgery just a couple of days before Christmas, but obviously after he helped hang the Christmas lights, so that’s one thing that made this year unique.

After opening the stockings in the family room (where the fireplace is), we gather in the living room to open the family presents. Then it’s back to the family room for the Santa gifts. Poor David had to do a bit of hobbling between the rooms, but he did have plenty of help.

Penny the Hamster was part of this year’s Christmas celebration, and also the subject of this year’s science fair project.

Earlier in the month Michelle had a chorus concert or two. I just love Christmas music, and it’s even better when it’s being played on the piano by your children!

After Christmas we honored Jeff at an Eagle Court of Honor, grateful that my dad was able to make the trip down for that special occasion.

Finally, we took advantage of being between missionaries to get a family portrait. At the time, we had no idea when the next opportunity would present itself (and it turned out to be five years). Wonderful memories of Christmas and family!
