Brad's Visit - Museum Day

After spending a day outside, it was time to spend the day inside, and since rain was in the forecast, that was a wise decision. So, off we went to the science museum. Once inside, we separated. One child wanted to watch a movie about dinosaurs; the others needed some hands-on activities. There's a special room geared to those 6 and under, and it was a hit.

Later, when I asked about their favorite exhibit, the hurricane wind experience was the winner. Maybe I should have tried it myself!

Although not pictured, I did try my hand at the various brain teasers which are part of their permanent display, and Adam loved throwing the beach ball into the Bernoulli Blower. (We have a fondness for Bernoulli technology since that same principle was used where Wayne worked decades ago - the Bernoulli Box built by IOMEGA.)

We happened to be there when two travelling displays overlapped - Journey through the Human Brain had just opened, and Dinosaur Invasion was in its last few weeks.

Although not nearly as impressive as the Georgia Aquarium, which we toured when we visited them in Atlanta, this museum did have a few fish tanks, and we enjoyed watching the fish swim back and forth for a while.

Since our community pool was closed for repairs, and Brooke didn't want to wait another day to get into the water, we took our lunch to the closest beach. Unfortunately, it was a bit too chilly, windy and even rainy for swimming, at least for most of us. Brooke wasn't going to let that deter her, though! She ran around in the waves while the rest of us ate our lunch in the van.

Also on the list of things to do was a visit to the temple, so while Wayne accompanied Brad and Cody there, I got to stay home with the kids. We ate played games and watched movies and had a great time. All in all, the day was a success!
