Beach Day

You may or not be able to tell from the picture below, but this particularly county beach has a very small parking lot - no more than 30 spaces - and it took us multiple trips to get there earlier enough to find a spot. We arrived at 9:30 AM on President's Day and there were no empty spots. So this Saturday we left earlier, got to the park at 8:30 AM, and were able to snag the very last spot!

This park has a very nice little pathway to get to the beach, but there are no other facilities. Combined with the lack of parking, that led us to rate this one a 2. It's not one we'll plan on taking guests to; however, if we ever happen to do a spur-of-the-minute trip, and there happens to be an available parking spot, we just may visit it again.

It was a beautiful, sunny day, although a bit on the windy side so we didn't set up our umbrella. The water temperature, about 75 degrees, was about the same as the air temperature. It was barely warm enough to go swimming, but Wayne did for just a few minutes so that we could "cross the park off the list!" I was just fine with only getting my legs wet.

We enjoyed watching some kids build a giant hole, and some adults do some kite surfing, and we also enjoyed just relaxing and watching the waves. We have a most beautiful world!

When it was time for lunch, we drove over to Two Georges, located at the Boynton Beach Marina, to check it out, and we were not disappointed with our delicious meal. Even better was being able to watch the boats going up and down the Intracoastal Waterway.

It's always hard making decisions with faced a a menu filled with intriguing options. However, since I had just cooked swordfish for the first time as part of our Valentine's Day dinner, I figured I would try it again with someone else doing the preparing. It was a good choice. I don't know that I've ever had clams in the shell, either, so that was a fun treat as well. Once again, we had a delightful little Saturday staycation. We're so grateful we have the opportunity to do that every so often.
