Gregory Bald Trail
Ready for a long hike! We parked our car at the trail's end, then backtracked a bit down the road to Parson Branch, to get to the end of the Gregory Bald Trail. (On our first trip to this national park we actually drove the Parson Branch Road, but there's been quite a bit of weather-caused damage that hasn't been repaired, so this year the road itself was closed to vehicles.)
After climbing through the forest for a few miles we made it to the top of the mountain. It's called a "bald" because the landscape if covered in grasses and flowers and not trees.
After walking through the beautiful meadow, we descended back into the forest and completed the loop to our car.
