Hawaii - Day 8

All good things must come to an end. Isn't that how the saying goes? Anyway, even if it was our last day, we decided to have fun until the last possible minute. I think we succeeded!

Before we started exploring, there was plenty of time to play with the grandchildren, and help Evelyn make her oatmeal for breakfast. That's her favorite food just in case you wanted to know, and she knows exactly how to prepare it to her liking.

Keystone Cave - A delightful little find. You park at the end of a dirt road just past Glass Beach and near an old cemetery, then walk along the cliffs for a few minutes. It was absolutely fascinating, and gorgeous as well. We're glad we decided to try finding it.

Glass Beach - It was pretty picked over, and you wouldn't want to stay there long, but we're glad we stopped and explored for a bit.

Lunch at Puka Dogs. I tried the pineapple sauce and it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but the others were happy with their choices. In addition, it was pretty expensive for just an ordinary hot dog; however, overall we enjoyed it and had fun playing tourists.

David gave us a tour of these condos, one of the projects he was working on a while ago. They're gorgeous, but we can think of other ways to spend $2,000,000 assuming we ever have that problem. Rather than purchasing our own place, we'll just camp out at his house when we visit!

After that we took a quick tour of Old Town Koloa. What a quaint little place.

Apparently one of the first businesses in Koloa was this sugar factory. As you can tell, it's no longer in business.

There is, however, a little store called the Koloa Mill. Instead of selling sugar, they sell ice cream and shave ice. So, we had one last treat. Wayne chose blue raspberry, just in case you couldn't tell.

Definitely a tropical paradise. The flowers were gorgeous, but David's little family is even more beautiful. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. We're looking forward to the next visit, whenever that might be!
