Attitude of Gratitude - Day #1

It's November! That means it's time to play the "I am Thankful" Game. (Actually, I was just going to do a post a day describing one of our many blessings, but I checked last year's posts first and was reminded of this wonderful activity, so I guess I'll play along. You can go here to get the typed version. Be sure to let me know if you're playing too!)
Last month at general conference, President Monson gave the following counsel: "Do we remember to give thanks for the blessings we receive? Sincerely giving thanks not only helps us recognize our blessings, but it also unlocks the doors of heaven and helps us feel God’s love. My beloved friend President Gordon B. Hinckley said, 'When you walk with gratitude, you do not walk with arrogance and conceit and egotism, you walk with a spirit of thanksgiving that is becoming to you and will bless your lives.' . . . A grateful heart, then, comes through expressing gratitude to our Heavenly Father for His blessings and to those around us for all that they bring into our lives."

We want to follow his counsel, and what better way than to list our blessings? And so today the number one thing on our "I am thankful for . . ." list is this: Yes, it's just a building, but it means that someone gets to go to work again every day, and that makes us happy. We're grateful for that miracle in our lives. And the cloudy day just reminds us that the Lord means it when he says he'll pour down blessings from heaven - so keep your umbrella handy!
