WMFW - The Handy Dandy Egg Slicer
A while ago, I posted some lunch ideas, and I thought I had already shared my thoughts on that lowly kitchen gadget - the egg slicer - but I couldn't find the post. So, you get it today!
First of all, since I don't use it a lot, it can't take valuable "A" storage space, so it's tossed in my kitchen gadget basket. Because I'm short, I have to reach a bit, but then I can grab the whole basket and it just takes a few seconds of rummaging to find what I want. (Note: I also use this same system for rarely used - that's the red basket. And the "A" utensils are just thrown in the drawer next to the stove. It works well for us.) Second, years ago I learned that it was easy to get chopped egg for egg salad by slicing the egg in two directions. First, put the whole, peeled egg in the slicer and slice. Then carefully remove it, turn it 90°, and slice it again. Voilá - diced egg!

And lastly, egg slicers work on other ingredients as well, like mushrooms. What else do you use your egg slicer for?? Or what essential utensil should I get for my basket?
I'm linking up at Works for Me Wednesday, which is hosted by Kristen at We are THAT Family. It's a "greatest tips" edition this week and I'm looking forward to gathering lots of ideas from others over there.

BTW, thanks for the idea of the kitchen basket - that's SO what I need to do! My "A" drawer is too shallow, and the other gadget drawer is busting full. I'm getting myself a gadget basket for the pantry. Thanks again for solving that problem!
BTW, I heard rumor of another marriage...wha'sup?
