Attitude of Gratitude - Day #7

Today I am thankful for the blessings that come from paying tithing. This week Princess and I discussed the Personal Progress "faith" experience on tithing, which includes "share the blessings that come from paying tithing." It was a little difficult for her. One thought was that lately she's been getting a lot of babysitting jobs, and that could be a blessing, but she's been paying tithing for 13 years, and definitely not getting jobs for that long! That led to a discussion on how sometimes the blessings come much later; we need to respect the Lord's timing.

Her brother suggested that one of the blessings is being able to go to the temple, i.e. being worthy of having a temple recommend. That's a great blessing. In the past we've discussed that some of the blessings are our belongings last longer and don't need to be replaced so often. Coincidentally, this question was mentioned in Relief Society this morning, and one of the responses was that paying tithing helps us budget and manage our money better, and that's a blessing. Another response was that paying tithing helps us realize that nothing we have is really ours - it all belongs to the Lord. If you have any other blessings that come from paying tithing, please feel free to add them to the comments.

I was going to record some of our favorite "family" tithing stories, but I've already done that, so here's the link if you want to review them.
