Ice Cream Buckets

Works for Me Wednesday
An Organizing Tip
Because it's the first Wednesday of the month, there's a theme to follow over at Works for Me Wednesday, and that is organizing tips.
One thing that works for me is ice cream buckets. Of course, we love the ice cream inside of them, but once that's gone, they still are useful. I've used them for storing a lot of things - cookies in the freezer, homemade "bisquick" in the pantry, bristle blocks and hot wheel cars in the toy room, and a 72-hour kit in the car trunk. I currently have one holding the hair clippers and associated paraphanalia, one full of spare office supplies (extra thumbtacks, tape refills, staples, etc.) and one holding the bathroom cleaning supplies. I love being able to grab the handle and go.And I love that they don't cost anything,
and that they're easy to replace when they get worn out,
and that they come in handy as buckets for quick cleaning jobs or soaking stained laundry.
and that they make great baskets for seminary scripture mastery games.
What else could I use empty ice cream buckets for?

Great idea! I too love ice cream buckets. I have a smaller one (sherbet, I think) that I keep my brown sugar in and another one I keep in my freezer with all the little bits of veggies we have left over every night ... it's the perfect size for my "soup pot" so when it's full, I know I have a "free dinner" ready to go!

Hi Becky! thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment! I am right thre with ou on the reusing of ice cream buckets1 They have a million uses. we just reently talked to a local ice cream shop and asked what they did with their big buckets. They gave us 6 of them and then told us if we ever need more, just stop by! They work so great in my food storage for rice, sugar, pasta...you name it!

Just like others have said...time to eat more ice cream...seems like a good excuse. ;) You have some wonderful tips for using them. I only got as far as toys.

Thanks for stopping by for WFMW!
Great idea! They definitely hold quite a bit. :D
