August Activities

Wayne wanted to keep the vacation feeling as long as he could, so we've had some fun this past month. He even took a Friday off to do another segment of the Pinellas Trail. The next day the plan was to go to get the morning chores done and then go to the next city park on the list and have a picnic. Well, the website didn't say the park was not accessible due to nearby construction. So, we just found a bench on the street and watched traffic go by while we ate our sandwiches. While the kids were at the beach with their youth group, we went to Orlando and explored the downtown area of Winter Park. That was fun.
Then the next week we had a family trip to the beach - another gorgeous day in paradise. The timing was perfect as we left just before the downpour arrived.
You can't have fun without throwing in some hiking. This was Flatwoods Loop - a totally paved and flat 7 mile bike trail. If I'm going to hike I prefer to actually "go" somewhere, but the weather was delightful (once again it started raining as we got in the car to go home), and it was nice to spend time together.
In between our Saturday activities, school ended (wish we could have been there!), school started, and David continued sharing his adventures with us.
Finally, August ended with a birthday celebration. Happy Birthday to You, Wayne!!
