I guess the unique story for this year is the dog by Weston's feet (which was actually David's - Weston's was solid gray). The "toy of the year" was Pound Puppies. They didn't fit in our budget, but I did find a pattern for making your own, so we did, using scraps from another project. I was pleasantly surprsed at how cute they turned out!
