Festival of the Nativity

Tonight is the final night of the Brandon Stake's Festival of the Nativity. (Click on the link for details.) We've moved away and can't attend, but if you're still in the Tampa area, I assure you it will be worth your time to go visit. In honor of that event, I thought I'd post some pictures we took several years ago when some of our nativity sets were in the display. You'd have to ask someone else to make sure, but I think 2005 was the first year they did it. Each year it just gets bigger and better!
Claypot Nativity (on the left with the yellow star)
Set inherited from my grandmother. I've been told that she probably painted it herself; it was a favorite Relief Society activity several decades ago.
Hard to see, but ours is the 3-piece glass one in the center - a cherished gift from my in-laws.
Here's the close-up of our clay pot nativity set for my sister. As you can see, our wise men have hands and hair (or beards), so I guess you're on your own for figuring out how to finish yours!
One of our family traditions is to have the scripture John 3:16 wrapped up and under the Christmas tree to be opened on Christmas Day. Rather than just having a piece of paper, I often attached it to a nativity set of some sort. You can imagine that we have quite a collection. Maybe one of the future posts will chronicle some more of them.
